ABOUT US
Nowadays, Gold Coast Archery Club is a Social Community Club, run entirely by
volunteers who are archers themselves. We only shoot outdoor target archery using
recurve, compound, barebow and longbows.
The club members’ ages have ranged from ten to eighty years plus. Archery is a sport that
most people can participate in, including many with disabilities. You do not have to have any
special physical attribute to become good at the sport, so come along and have a go. It’s
great fun and the members are friendly and supportive!
Archery can be enjoyed at many levels: casual, social or for the competitively minded,
shooting at Club, State, National and International levels.
Gold Coast Archery Club Inc is affiliated with the following Governing Bodies.
1. SQAS The Regional Governing Body (RGB).
2. Archery Australia The National Governing Body (AA) for the sport in Australia.
3. World Archery The World Governing Body. (FITA)
World Archery is recognised by the Commonwealth and State Governments through the
Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Olympics Committee and the Australian
Commonwealth Games Association.
